As founder and President of Optimize IT Consulting, Amy Walker, MS, RN, CPHQ, FACHE, NEA-BC, is an accomplished senior clinical executive in information systems management. She has the unique combination of extensive systems life cycle experience and healthcare background. Amy has vast knowledge in management of information systems functions, including design, development, systems selection, needs assessment, implementation, and contract execution. She has led both functional and technical senior teams to deliver value added IT products and services.

Amy holds a MS degree from the University of Maryland in Informatics and Administration. Amy’s education prepared the foundation for her expertise in information management and computer science. She remains current in the industry because of her continued education at both George Washington University and Federal CIO Program. She has taught project management to graduate students at University of Maryland Baltimore campus. Amy is experienced and educated in advanced negotiating.

Her most recent accomplishment as Chief Clinical Information Officer, for a large IDN was the implementation of an Electronic Medical Record. The multi-million dollar IT project included a “big bang” installation of over 18 applications and an enterprise system model for 27 hospitals. Amy led the mapping of best work processes to IT for optimal success and the change management effort at all levels within the organization.
